OUR FISHING SEASON

Colorado Fly Fishing SeasonsVail and Beaver Creek fly fishing seasons are as follows with Fly Fishing Outfitters.

December-February:  A great half day wade trip on Gore Creek, parts of the Eagle, or the Roaring Fork.  Both are great winter fisheries that allow a person some rest from the slopes.  The fish are hungry and the crowds are on the slopes instead of the rivers so it is an excellent time to catch a big one.  Check availability of Winter Rates.

March-Run Off:  One of the best times to fish the Eagle valley as well as float the Roaring Fork and the Colorado rivers.  Warmer daytime temps make a full day trip very comfortable and the fish are very active.  A not to be missed time of year even after the mountain closes. Once the high water and mud come we move to smaller creeks, dam controlled tailwaters and lakes in the region.

July-September:  This is prime time, lots of Dry Fly action and we are wading and floating over 250 miles of great Colorado trout water.  This is shorts and sandal season, warm summer afternoon lunches along the river.  Great for the expert or complete novice.

October-November:  Streamer season… that time of year for big Brown trout on large classic western rivers like the Colorado.  This time of the year is great for fall colors, comfortable temps… big flies and big fish minus the busy nature of the summer months.
