FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Locally owned, Fly Fishing Outfitters and Orvis
are pleased to bring a Nationally Recognized
Fly Fishing School to the Vail Valley
Edwards, Colorado (June 29, 2010) Fly Fishing Outfitters and The Orvis Company are partnering with The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera to bring a nationally recognized fly fishing school to the Vail Valley. The school is the only one of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region and joins the other13 nationally recognized Orvis Fly Fishing schools throughout the country. The school is operated by Fly Fishing Outfitters, a locally owned and operated Orvis endorsed guide service and retail store and two time Orvis Endorsed Outfitter of the Year. For the 2010 season classes are being held from mid-June to mid-October at the Lodge at Cordillera in Edwards, Colorado. Cordillera is an ideal location for the school due to its access to both fishing ponds and almost two miles of private water on the Eagle River.
“Fly Fishing Outfitters is thrilled to partner with the Orvis Company on the fly fishing school. We have already had a tremendous response and we are drawing students from all over the US as well as locals who want to sharpen their fishing skills” says John Packer, Owner of Fly Fishing Outfitters.
Whether you are a beginner or have been fly fishing for many years, the Colorado Orvis Fly Fishing School can handle all levels of experience. With a 4:1 student to instructor ratio, students are assured of plenty of individual, specialized attention. The school covers everything anyone needs to know to be a skilled fisherman including fly casting with video analysis, technical information on lines, rods and reels, hands-on knot tying, stream entomology, choosing and fishing flies, hook-setting and fish-fighting techniques, safely landing and releasing fish, and reading water.
“Over the years, I have had many students tell me how attending the fly fishing school has eliminated what would have been countless hours of frustration on learning how to fly cast on my own. Students who have gone through the school with some fly fishing experience have commented that they wished they had gone through the school years ago and that they learned more in two days than in two or three years on their own,” says Truel Myers, Orvis Head Fly-Fishing Instructor.
The cost of the 2-day school is $470 and Orvis is running a special right now where you can bring a friend for half price. Spots are filling up fast. Register at www.orvis.com or call 866-531-6213.
