Yampa River Fly Fishing Report for March 10th, 2013

The Yampa River starts below Stagecoach Resivoir and continues through the town of Steamboat Springs and heads west to the confluence of the Green River.  Along it's journey this gold medal Trout fishery melds into a warm water fly fishery inhabited by Smallmouth Bass and Large Northern Pike. Most of the Water west of Craig CO is accessible by boat only.

Yampa River Fly Fishing Report:

Very low flows coming out of Stagecoach Bring your 7X Fluorocarbon and a good selection of Midges and BWO's and a few San Juan Worms (didn't here that here).  A fun place to sight fish large smart fish (some days they aren't that smart, go figure).  Hiking down to the Sarvis Creek area can be well worth the walk(about a 1/4 Mile) Get there early to get your spot.
