“BEST DRY FLY FISHING IN YEARS!!”

IT’S FISH in AUGUST! SAVE 15-50% OFF SELECTED IN STOCK INVENTORY GOING ON NOW!!

After what was arguably the best Caddis hatch on the Eagle River in years this is the time when Fly fishermen earn their fish on many rivers, streams and still-waters.  The dog days of summer have descended upon the us and although the fishing can be very good  it can can also be a bit more challenging.   Mid day water temperatures are the key to a good days fishing or catching. Mid day temps are starting to push into the mid 60’s on a regular basis, meaning that if you have to fish mid day it’s probably going to be with a nymph rig on the Eagle or Roaring Fork.  The Roaring Fork and Eagle Rivers both are having very similar seasons right now.  Unless you are fishing the “Hour of Power” right before dark where there are still some Caddis and Yellow Sallies the main menu items are going to be Pale Morning Duns, Midges and Blue Winged Olives.  Terrestrials are always going to be producing fish on the Colorado, Hoppers and Ants even during the warmer sunnier parts of the day.  The Green Drakes and big PMD’s are also still hatching on the Frying Pan.  Flows on the Blue River below Dillon Reservoir have finally dropped to a good fishing level in just the last couple of days.   Please feel free to contact the shop for up to the minute reports.   We have a huge selection of flies at the ready for any condition or water you  fish. Our guide staff has over 275 years of experience on local waters, no one can even come close to that.  Call us now and get out on the water with best or let us help you stock up on supplies.  Our shop staff is the friendlies most helpful in the valley.  (970) 854-8090 or (970) 476 -FISH (3474)

This section is updated with the latest conditions and reports from our guides. Who better to report on the fishing conditions than the guides fishing the waters daily!
